Mel B. formerly of the Spice Girls has filed a restraining order against her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte on Monday after detailing extreme abuse she endured throughout their relationship, TMZ reports.
Mel B. whose real name is Melanie Brown, 41, claims Belafonte brutally beat her any time she achieved success and sexually exploited her.
Brown detailed years of abuse Brown by Belafonte, who she married in 2007 before she recently filing for divorce. Belafonte would “punch her in the face with a closed fist, often surrounding her accomplishments like her finale of “Dancing with the Stars” and her appearance on the “X Factor.”
On the night of her “DWTS” finale in 2007, Belafonte allegedly choked his wife and slammed her to the floor, which she said wasn’t the first time.
She said he would “beat me down to let me know he was in charge,” according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
In 2012, she tweeted a photo of a bruise on her face and wrote, “Running in 7 inch louboutin no good!! I’m wearing prauge on my face!!!”
Brown said she became very good at covering for her bruises. She said he would “beat me down to let me know he was in charge,” according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

In addition to the physical abuse Belafonte would force her to participate in threesomes, and have sex with other women, threatening to release sex tapes that she is featured in.
He also impregnated their nanny and wanted them to all live together. Ultimately demanding she get an abortion TMZ reports.
The couple have three children together all which are protected under the restraining order Mel B obtained on Monday.
Belafonte is also accused by the ex-Spice Girl of being in possession of a firearm and police recently served him with a search warrant, but did not discover any weapons.
