My people seem to be still locked in a war between “light skin and dark skin.”
There seems to be a load of what I call “self haters” on Twitter that feel Boseman is a few shades too dark to play Marshall, believing the former SCOTUS judge’s “light-skinned privilege” was fundamental to his advancement.
They are even trying to compare the role of Zoe Saldana as Nina Simone where they basically “black faced” Saldana.
Yes we are well aware that Marshall’s “light skin” afforded him opportunities that a darker skin black man would not have had.
But c’mon are we really going to use “reverse colorism” as our excuse for why Boseman shouldn’t play the role?
I’m gonna need for you guys to just take a seat at the table and pray on it.
