Are people having some kind of identity crisis or something? Or did being “Black” become suddenly become a dirty word?
Maybe Zoe Kravitz, daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, who are both Black, had an epiphany of some sort.
Zoe posted a photo of herself standing in front of a Basquiat quote that reads, “I’m not a Black artist. I am an artist.”
And she added some thoughts that caused all kinds of chaos on Twitter.
“I think I’ll got take a black walk. And have a black talk. With my black friend. Maybe have some black lunch. Watch a black movie, sing a black song, smock a black bond,” she captioned the photo. “Then take a black nap in my black bed in my black sheets and have some black dreams. …..Happy to be be black. Just don’t need to say it in front of everything.”
Just take a look at some of the feedback.
Oh Zoe, if turning your “Black” on and off could be that easy. Smh
