In Charlottesville, Virginia, White Supremacists, Nazis, Alt Right and KKK came together to push their message that America is THEIR country and they want it back.
And if you are of another descent such as African American, Jewish, Hispanics or anything other than a pure bred, White American you are lower than a dog.
The clash in Charlottesville between the racists and true American ended in the death of a woman and injured several people after a 20 year old White supremacist decided to barrel his car into a group of people in the street.
And what did our President have to say about this?
This was Trump’s opportunity to condemn the violence and speak out against the white supremacists and white nationalists, many of whom supported him in the election.
We needed the leader of the nation to forcefully call out these ugly and un-American interests.
The best that Trump could come up with is “We want to get this situation straightened out in Charlottesville. And we want to study it. And we want to see what we’re doing wrong as a country.” He also blamed “hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.”
We needed a leader to say “this will not be tolerated.” That we will not tolerate violence.
Trump failed us.
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe said what Trump should have.
The ugliness took place in the hometown of founding father Thomas Jefferson was the direct result of the type of leadership we have in this country.
What makes the aftermath so intolerable is that Trump had an opportunity to show real leadership and bring this country together.
But couldn’t bring himself to do it because he needs their support in order to win 4 more years in the White House.
We don’t have to worry about terrorists or North Korea destroying this great country.
We have enough “homegrown, domestic terrorists” right here in our own backyard who are destroying what the forefathers died for to make America “Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.”
Today, I can honestly say, Trump made me ashamed to call this country, the place of my birth…..home.
Trump has proven once again, that he has no place in the company of the great leaders that formed this country.
